Documentation

Quick start: your first document

Open Workspace, start with New document or Library, fill Document settings, generate or edit, then share or export.

  1. Open Workspace from the sidebar (/documents). To start a new saved document, use New document in the left sidebar or New document in the Library rail header. To open existing work, click Library in the sidebar (hover to preview the rail next to the editor, or click again to pin it open), then choose a document.
  2. Walk through New document when the app shows it: optional Word import, set the title, and any first-run fields. Then open Document settings from the gear icon in the document title bar for Generate draft prerequisites, article writer options, and anything else your workflow lists. Complete fields marked required before you rely on Generate draft.
  3. Run Generate draft for a full AI pass when you want one (you must be online and within your plan’s AI words). For smaller rewrites, select text and use Refine. AutoDraft (ghost suggestions while typing) is toggled on the editor toolbar; the account-wide master switch and defaults live under Account → Writing style. Citations and Review still depend on your plan and environment.
  4. Watch the header for save status. You can change the title above the editor at any time.
  5. Use Share in the document title bar (not Share folder in Library) to invite collaborators on this document (Editor, Commenter, Viewer) for real-time collaboration. Comments under More document actions () appear after at least one collaborator exists; you can start a thread from highlighted text, the toolbar Comment control, or ⌘⇧M (macOS) / Ctrl+Shift+M (Windows/Linux). See Sharing: documents vs Library folders and Document editor.
  6. Export from More document actions () → Export (Word, HTML copy, LaTeX when enabled); use Print for PDF; use cloud upload when integrations are connected. See Export and print.

If Generate draft fails, confirm you are online, Document settings requirements are satisfied, and you have not exceeded your monthly AI words. For a fuller map of the shell, read Introduction. For copies and URLs, see New documents and copies.
