PDF metadata and uploads
Adding references from PDFs when your deployment supports it.
Some deployments allow uploading or importing PDFs to extract metadata for references (implementation and limits vary by environment).
Good practice
- Prefer DOI entry when you have it — resolution is more reliable than inferred PDF metadata.
- Review extracted title, authors, and year before saving to your library.
If upload is unavailable, use Insert citation with DOI or URL instead.
