Insert citation: DOI, URL, and library

Open the dialog, resolve metadata, insert at cursor.

  1. Place the cursor where the citation should appear (usually after the supported claim).
  2. Open Insert citation from the toolbar, or press Ctrl+Shift+C / ⌘⇧C, type @, or choose Citation from the / slash menu (when citations are enabled on your plan).
  3. Enter a DOI, paste an article URL for resolution, or choose From library if you have saved sources (Student and above — not Free).
  4. On From library, optional filters help narrow sources (for example open access, minimum citations, type, year range). Use keyboard / and Enter to move the list quickly.
  5. Confirm metadata when shown, then Insert at cursor.
  6. Click Refresh references on the bibliography strip to update the bibliography section.

Use Reload list on the From library tab if you saved new sources while the dialog was open.

Edit an inserted citation to adjust in-text style (parenthetical vs narrative), prefix, page, and suffix when you need locator text beyond the default line.
