Clara: a research assistant that knows your sources

Clara is Clarami's document-scoped AI assistant. She opens in a right-hand panel inside any document and pulls answers from your active draft and your saved reference library. When you allow it, she can also search the live web. She is not a generic chatbot with writing bolted on.

Available on every plan. Free includes a smaller monthly message pool; PRO and Platinum unlock full attachments, threads, and search.

Answers grounded in your work, not the open web

Ask Clara to compare findings across your uploaded papers, unpack a methods section, or surface passages relevant to the paragraph you are writing. Every answer is anchored in your library and your current draft, with citation chips you can drop straight into the document.

  • Document context: Clara reads the current draft as you write so she can answer about your argument, your structure, and your sources.
  • Library grounding: opt-in scope toggles let you point Clara at your saved references, the current document, or both. You pick per turn.
  • Citation chips: answers return inline citation chips that you can insert directly into the draft with the citation metadata preserved.
  • English and Spanish: Clara replies in your interface language with the same source-grounded behavior across both.

Each Clara session lives inside the document it belongs to. Spin up a thread to plan a section, another to compare two sources, and a third to draft a counter-argument. Clara keeps them separate so context from one thread never leaks into another.

Discovery searches across Semantic Scholar, PubMed, arXiv, and CrossRef happen inside the same panel. Add a result to your library and Clara can use it on her next turn. No tab switching, no copy-paste.

What Clara is not

Clara is not a generic chatbot. She is anchored to the document you are writing and the sources you have decided to trust. If you ask a question her scope does not cover, she will tell you so rather than invent an answer.

Clara does not guarantee correctness. She is drafting assistance, not a substitute for your judgment. Verify every quotation, page reference, and citation against the underlying source before you submit graded or published work.

Clara does not silently change your draft. Anything she produces lands in the chat panel first. You decide what to insert, what to revise, and what to discard. The canonical document is yours.
